Dr Corrie Pinkster - Compassionate Veterinary and Behavioural Care

Dr Corrie Pinkster

BVSC, MANZCVS (Avian Health, Veterinary Behaviour)

Helping guardians to improve the emotional, behavioural,
and physical health of their dogs, cats, birds and rabbits.

I have loved the company of animals for as long as I remember and always dreamed of working with them. I graduated vet school at University of Melbourne in 2006 and began my career in a mix of avian and small animal practices in Melbourne. I worked at a bird-only veterinary clinic for over 12 years, gaining much experience and expertise in treating all sorts of birds ranging from pet budgies and canaries to chickens, exotic parrots and pigeons. In 2012 I gained, by examination, Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Avian health.

I have always had a strong interest in behaviour and helping owners (and myself) to live in harmony with the animals in our care. My main goal with this is to help animals to have the best life they can, minimising fear and stress and also maintaining or improving the bond between pet and guardian. I completed the year long Behavioural Medicine course run by the Centre for Veterinary Education through the University of Sydney in 2022. My experience and knowledge in this field was further recognised in 2024 by gaining Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Behaviour. I am also a Fear Free Certified Professional.

Apart from my bird and behaviour work, I have over 15 years of experience working in small animal practice. I enjoy building relationships with clients and working with them to achieve quality care for their pets.

I now live and (mostly) work in Gippsland and enjoy the company at home of my husband, 4 parrots, 3 dogs and a cat, while professionally enjoying helping clients with their birds, dogs, cats and rabbits.
